Scrambling shrub with arching branches. Leaves softly hairy, bright green. Female flowers with long red stigmas, elsewhere green. Fruits green, 3-lobed.

Fern with erect pale green fronds, tufted from a tough woody rhizome, fertile portions terminal on some fronds, brown.

Untidily branched perennial herb. Bracts green turning brown. Corolla white, stamens not exserted. Mostly past flowering at this time of year.

Erect sedge to 50 cm tall from a horizontal pink rhizome. Spikelets pale brown.

Several broad fronds from a woody rhizome, fronds c. 1-1.5 x 0.7 m.

Herb to 2 m. Corolla pale mauve; filaments green-white, anthers yellow.
